Son Ye-Jin makes a return to our television screens for an upcoming K-drama, Thirty-Nine. Here's everything we know so far about her role
It has been almost a year and a half since Crash Landing On You allowed us to fall in love with one of our favourite K-drama couples, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin. If you have been waiting for either of them to make a comeback, the wait is finally over because Son will soon be starring in a new K-drama called Thirty-Nine.

The award-winning actress recently revealed that she will be joining the 12-episode romantic drama which is expected to begin shooting later this year. The show is set to revolve around a group of friends who are about to enter their forties.
If you can't wait for Thirty-Nine, here's everything we know so far about Son's role in the new drama.

1. It will be her first JTBC drama in three years
The last time Son acted in a JTBC drama was three years ago when she acted in Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food.
JTBC will be the network in charge of Thirty-Nine and Son will be one of the main stars in the show.
2. She will be playing the role of a dermatologist
Though you may be tempted to forever remember Son as the beautiful Yoon Se-ri in Crash Landing on You, she is a versatile actress who is capable of playing a wide variety of characters.
In this new drama, Son will play the role of a wealthy dermatologist who works at an upscale clinic and treats the rich and famous.
3. Jeon Mi-do from Hospital Playlist will be starring alongside her
Hospital Playlist has been one of the latest Korean dramas in 2021 to soar in ratings on Netflix. In fact, it did so well that it secured a second season which premiered on the streaming site on June 17.
Fans will rejoice in the fact that Jeon Mi-do, one of the lead stars of the show, will be joining the cast of Thirty-Nine as Jung Chan-young, an acting coach.
4. They have an incredible director and screenwriter
Behind every good film or series is an incredible creative team and Thirty-Nine certainly has this covered.
Yoo Young will be the screenwriter for the show while Kim Sang-ho will be directing. Yoo has been behind many famous Korean films such as Kim Ji-Young: Born 1982 and On Your Wedding Day while Kim Sang-ho has recently directed Run On, a popular new Korean drama on Netflix.
