The British royal family announced the birth of Princess Eugenie's first baby with Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child, a son, today at The Portland Hospital. The baby, born weighing 8 lbs 1 oz, is the ninth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II.

The official announcement from the royal family reads: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present.

"The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news. 

"This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

Princess Eugenie revealed a first photo of the new baby on her Instagram account this evening:

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, a bar manager and a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila, dated for seven years before they were engaged in early 2018. The couple married in October of that year at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. 

The Portland Hospital was also the hospital where Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were born. The Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton) gave birth at St Mary's Hospital.
