She states that she practiced very quickly, did “a very deep curtsey” and then “we just sat there and we chatted, and it was lovely and easy.”

Meghan also revealed that she hadn't Googled the royals prior to her relationship with Harry and her subsequent meeting of the family, saying “Thank God I didn’t know a lot about the family. Thank God I hadn’t researched, because I would have been so in my head about it.”

5. The pair actually married three days before the televised church service

The world was watching on May 19, 2018 when Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle––however, Meghan has revealed that they actually married three days before the royal wedding, just them and the priest. With Meghan adding: “Nobody knows this”.

6. Kate Middleton made Meghan cry ahead of the wedding

After the wedding, a story emerged in the British tabloids that Meghan had made Kate cry, however, Meghan sets the record straight, claiming that it in fact was the other way around.

The story was that Meghan had made Kate Middleton cry over Meghan’s strict flower girl demands.

“The reverse happened,” she states, with Oprah quickly probing––“When you say the reverse happened,” what actually happened, Oprah asks.

A few days before the wedding Kate was upset about flower girl dresses and “it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings,” says Meghan.

“It just did not make sense with everything going on with the wedding to not be supportive,” says Meghan. Meghan states she stopped this story from getting out at the time, but the press later picked up on it.

She adds that she doesn’t tell that story “to be disparaging of Kate”.

7. The Queen gifted Meghan pearls

Meghan also explained that she went to a senior person in "the firm" and said she needed help, but was told that she could not get that help.

9. The couple first proposed moving to a Commonwealth country, rather than LA

When talking of the couple's decision to take a step back from Royal life, Harry explained that when asking his family they said "We can do it in a Commonwealth country, we had suggested New Zealand, South Africa, Canada." but the family wasn't open to the decision.

When probed by Oprah if the couple "blindsided" the Queen with their decision, Harry stated simply "No, I have too much respect for her.”

12. Harry was cut off financially from the Royals

The recent Netflix and Spotify deals now make more sense, as Harry explained that in early 2020 he was cut off financially from the Royal family.
