Mon Confiado is hardly recognisable in many of his films; the actor states that he goes through drastic physical, emotional, and mental changes before he could ever give life to a role.

For a role in The Diplomat Hotel (2013), Confiado lost about 40 pounds and even shaved his hairline, he also spent the whole day in Aguinaldo Shrine before he could embody Emilio Aguinaldo in Heneral Luna. Confiado went as far as spending the night along the streets of Manila without cash for his taong grasa (beggar) role in Sa Kabilang Dako.

In a Facebook post, Confiado explained why he takes every acting job seriously "I admit that I rely on physically transforming myself as a way to get into character. It’s helpful not to look like yourself. If I look in the mirror and that doesn’t look like me, that’s helpful."

According to Confiado, method acting (the type of acting in which an actor aspires to encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances by putting him or herself in the shoes of the character) is a technique he is willing to go through for his craft. “Aside from talent, you must have passion, dedication, and attitude if you want to work in the movies".
