The Emmy Awards nominations are in—both Netflix's The Crown and Disney Plus' The Mandalorian are leading with 24 nominations each. Emmy-winning father-daughter duo, Ron Cephas Jones from This is Us and Jasmine Cephas Jones of Blindspotting announced the nominations Wednesday morning, Hong Kong time.
The 2021 Emmy Awards will be hosted by Cedric the Entertainer on September 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Among this year's notable nominations include: Bowen Yang being the first Chinese American actor to receive an Emmy nod, Mj Rodriguez is the first trans woman nominated for the lead actress category while Michael Coel—after being snubbed at the Golden Globes—finally gets not one but nine nominations.
