真子老公小室圭目前仍擔任「律師助理」，根據了解小室圭去年7月首次參加紐約州律師資格考試，結果落榜，目前只能任職律師助理，年薪僅只有600萬日元，據報已在今年2月再度參加考試，但成績尚未公布。

根據英國《每日郵報》報導，真子與丈夫的新家是位在地獄廚房區（Hell's Kitchen）中心地帶的1房出租公寓，鄰近紐約著名地標中央公園、林肯中心等，每月租金4,809美元（約13.3萬元台幣）起跳。現在豪華公寓的內部也曝光了，不只裡頭配備齊全，公設還有健身房、瑜伽室，甚至頂樓還有大露台可以讓住戶於都市也能享受日光浴。
