From exhibitions to street markets, these are the best Hong Kong events worth marking in your calendar for July
Summer is in full swing and temperatures are soaring in the city, but there are plenty of exciting events happening in July that might just lure you out of the house.
Between booking five-star staycations and enjoying beach getaways, here’s everything we’re looking forward to visiting this month, including Hong Kong Book Fair 2022, Tong Chong Street Market, and more.

1. Tong Chong Street Market
When: From now till July 29 (Monday-Friday, except public holidays)
Where: G/F, One Taikoo Place, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong
What: The ever-popular Tong Chong Street Market is back! With the tagline “Bite to Change”, the new event revolves around the theme of sustainable living, offering a diverse programme of food and experiences curated with the planet in mind.
Some participating F&B vendors at this month’s event include local bakeries Patisserie La Lune and Moon.Yuet; speciality coffee house Artista Perfetto; cafe Loop Kulture; and ohms Cafe & Bar, where guests will enjoy delicious pastries made with locally sourced ingredients, as well as refreshing coffees and cocktails.

2. Dessert Museum

Where: East Point City
What: Following its success in Manila, Dubai and Singapore, Dessert Museum is coming to Hong Kong this July. A feast for the eyes, the exhibition is specially designed with different Instagrammable dessert-themed zones, where visitors will be able to see a plethora of colourful works and enjoy wonderful photo opportunities.

3. Mama Told Me Presents: Turn Up The City vol. 6

What: Party lovers unite! This month, Mama Told Me will be hosting a new edition of the Turn Up the City music event at the Italian restaurant and bar, Babacio, where top DJs will be spinning hip-hop and r&b tunes to get you grooving.

4. Hong Kong Book Fair 2022

Where: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
What: Hong Kong’s largest literary event returns with the theme of “Reading the World: Stories of Hong Kong”. With books and artworks spotlighting the city’s history, culture and architectural development, the fair will take visitors on a reading adventure through time and space, allowing them to savour many inspiring local stories.
A wide collection of titles and genres including children’s books, popular fiction will be available at the event to delight all book lovers, alongside lifestyle goods and multimedia products.

5. Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2022

Where: Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre
What: Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong will be making an anticipated return this summer, welcoming visitors to enjoy a five-day event of animation, comics, video games, and music.
The second edition of HK Elefun Pop Art & Toy Show will also be staged at the fair to showcase the trendiest toys and figures and special installations. Talks and themed exhibitions will be organised for anime fans to enjoy as well.
