From "Black Widow" to "No Time to Die" to "Matrix 4", we round-up the most anticipated movies coming out in 2021
Last year might not be the best year for movies, with many postponed or moved to a digital release due to Covid-19. Cinemas may still be closed in Hong Kong, but most movies set to be released in thsi year are scheduled to come out online, allowing us to watch them at the comfort of our home.
Much like books, movies have been our source of escape and entertainment during this pandemic. And in 2021, we can look forward to many more exciting movies, including several sequels to successful franchises and some book adaptations.
From superhero movies and science fiction to action-packed titles, we round-up the most anticipated movies coming out in 2021.
1. Malcolm & Marie
Malcolm & Marie, un upcoming black and white drama film stars Zendaya and David Washington. Director Sam Levinson wrote the screenplay in just six days and compared to other films that had to halt production due to Covid-19, Malcolm & Marie was filmed during the pandemic, following safety protocols with the cast and crew being quarantined during before, during and after shooting.
Shot in 35mm black and white film, the story follows a filmmaker (Washington) after returning home following a movie premiere. He expects the movie to be a critical success. What should be a celebratory night at home with his girlfriend (Zendaya), takes a dark turn after secrets about their relationships began to unravel.
