1. Ariel Mok

WHO SHE IS

The daughter of hedge fund manager and property developer Henry Mok, Ariel is a budding growth hacker and also helps to manage the family business. The 25-year-old scion shares that she is currently trying to initiate new business ideas and also build her investment portfolio so that she can eventually make her job a passion and her investments a cash flow. Always learning new things, Ariel counts horseback-riding, Latin dance, and e-sports amongst her eclectic interests, so there's never a dull moment with her.

Ariel is a strong advocate for animal rights. “I have known People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) since I learned to Google 'cute puppies'. It may be controversial, but it is the most engaged animal rights charity.” She was part of Peta's guerrilla marketing team herself, working on its campaigns such as Brave the Cage. Living up to her namesake—Ariel, the little mermaid—she is also passionate about sustainability and was part of the US-based Heal the Bay initiative and took up Marine Biology studies while still in college in the US.

2. Cheryl Cheong

WHO SHE IS 

One of the first Singaporeans to be presented at the Bal des Débutantes in Paris, the daughter of watch collector Dr Bernard Cheong graduated from Singapore Management University with a double degree in business management and accountancy. Over two years ago, Cheryl turned her passion for cooking and baking into a career with the launch of her cafe Kindred Folk, which offers bespoke ice cream and waffles, as well as other recipes she personally developed.

Want to impress her? Cheryl shares that she looks out for a sense of humour when she meets someone new, so lighten up when you're around this down-to-earth socialite.

FUN FACT

Outside of the kitchen, Cheryl is also a fan of diving, so she's passionate about marine life as well. From a young age, Cheryl persuaded her entire extended family to stop the consumption of shark's fin.

3. Chloe Ng

WHO SHE IS

The eldest daughter of Singaporean society couple Nina and Eddie Ng is an aspiring lawyer who will soon be starting her training contract. A jet-setting fashionista, Chloe can always be spotted in the latest streetwear collections and checking in from around the world on her Instagram feed, which boasts 17.6k followers.

She counts travelling as one of her biggest passions and takes inspiration from the culture, history and cuisine of different countries. This year, the 23-year-old is focusing on self-improvement and health. “I want to do more to improve myself as a person, like going to the gym more often or picking up new skills like driving, pilates and wakeboarding.”

FUN FACT

While she has visited many destinations, Chloe counts a CAS (Creativity Activity Service) trip to Chiangmai as her favourite trip of all time. “The sense of satisfaction I got from meeting all the kids was truly fulfilling. It really taught me not to focus on what we don’t have but on the countless blessings that we have in life.”

4. Dawn Koh

WHO SHE IS

The co-founder of homegrown cake company Chalk Farm (which she manages with her brother Bryan Koh), Dawn’s latest project is expanding its Paragon outlet. When she’s not working on new ideas for her business, the creative takes inspiration from photography, old films, music and fashion—the Tatler Fashion Awards 2017 Fashion Newcomer has a weakness for Prada.

Dawn has also recently gotten into interior decorating due to her love for antique carpets. As for her personal goal this year, the 31-year-old shares that she wants to be more mindful in caring for the planet.

5. Desirée Peh

WHO SHE IS

The 25-year-old daughter of Adrian and Susan Peh—partners at Yeo-Leong & Peh and Singapore Tatler's Society Couple of the Year 2018—Desirée, who is currently a legal trainee, has followed the footsteps of her parents and older sister Melissa. Desirée, who completed a course in neurolinguistics last year, shares that her personal goal right now is in understanding how everyone communicates differently.

On top of her work, this talented scion is also passionate about music—she recently started composing songs based on her life experiences and has picked up playing the guitar and taking vocal lessons. Like her mother Susan, who chairs the gala and fundraising committee of Jazz Association (Singapore), Desirée is hugely supportive of the charity's concerts and fundraising events.

6. Elizabeth Heah

WHO SHE IS 

The daughter of doctors Heah Sieu Min and Caroline Low‑Heah, Elizabeth is also a doctor at Singapore General Hospital's Department of General Surgery, where she is currently working on a vascular paper comparing different surgical techniques for acute limb ischemia. Outside of work, Elizabeth is passionate about skincare, including understanding the science behind the ingredients used. 

The 25-year-old also shares that she is a huge supporter of charity organisation Kidz Horizon Appeal. “Partly because my mum is the chairperson [laughs] but I like that it takes a holistic approach to help children. Charity is not just about donating money, but also using the resources to develop services that are lacking and I feel that it does this well.”

My corgi’s name is Miso, because she is brown and white—like tofu floating in miso soup.

7. Qli Quek

WHO SHE IS

Qli Quek wears many hats. Creative designer as well as marketing and public relations manager at family business Nankai, the 28-year-old also co-founded and currently manages fusion percussion ensemble Drum Feng. In the pipeline for the musician is the production of Drum Feng’s first-ever promotional music video, as well as a fund-raising campaign for Food from the Heart by Nanyang Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra, which Qli presides over. 

The orchestra launched a cover of Lu Hu's Xue Luo Xia De Sheng Yin in July, dedicated to the frontliners of the Covid-19 pandemic. With so many activities on her agenda, Qli shares that her goal this year is to balance her work commitments and her passion for drumming, while finding time to sleep in-between.

A go-getter, Qli jokes that she’s in constant prayer for the day she gains the ability to not sleep: “I want to be up 24/7 because there are just so many things I want to accomplish in life!”

8. Rebecca Eu

WHO SHE IS

The daughter of Richard Eu, Rebecca was also one of the first Singaporeans to be presented at the Bal des Débutantes in Paris. The 26-year-old is the founder of social enterprise Mei's Own, which provides survivors of sex trafficking with education and employment in the Philippines. Based in Manila—which Rebecca calls her second home—Mei's Own works with its beneficiaries and local artisans to design and create homewares, providing a sustainable livelihood while preserving the art and heritage of the locality.

Because her work can be stressful and especially emotional, the social entrepreneur shares that her personal goal is to always pursue happiness. Rebecca also enjoys making miniatures, painting with gouache and singing with her dad’s band, the Cat Mountain Kings, when she's in town.

Want to know if Rebecca is enjoying her food? She'll show you through her ‘dance moves’—“I ‘bounce’ when the food comes. If it’s bad, I just sulk.” But you'll have to take her on more dates to figure it out.

WHO SHE IS

A marketing executive at her mother Belinda Chua's jewellery business, Flower Diamond Boutique, Sabrina also has a knack for creative design. The 27-year-old helms her own eponymous jewellery collection and is currently working on rebranding her mother’s boutique.

With 13.5k followers on Instagram, Sabrina frequently shares snippets of her jet-setting lifestyle, but don’t let that scare you off—the socialite also enjoys the simplicities of playing on her Nintendo Switch, or hitting the karaoke with friends. 10. Zeena Tan

WHO SHE IS

A corporate lawyer at an investment holding company, Zeena is the daughter of fundraising veteran and ikebana proponent Linda Soo-Tan. Like her mother, who is a board member for Food from the Heart, Zeena is also a supporter of the charity, which distributes food to families in need. “It's a deeply meaningful cause, and one that's especially relevant during these challenging times,” she shares.

A photographer by passion, the 29-year-old never leaves for a holiday without her trusty Leica Q camera and chronicles her travels on her Instagram—we hear she’s working on a website to present her portfolio of works. Zeena has also made it her goal this year to improving on her Chinese language and connect with her cultural heritage. While she has a keen eye for aesthetics, she shares that the first thing she notices in someone new is how they carry themselves—potential suitors take note!
