1. The album came from her divorce

Adele’s music is always raw, filled with emotion and simply gut-wrenching and it looks like 30 will be similar. In fact, the singer revealed during an Instagram Live on October 9 that the album was a result of a painful divorce from her ex-husband, Simon Konecki.

Adele and Konecki started dating in 2011 and married in 2018. Unfortunately, the pair split up in 2019 and their divorce was finalised early this year.

The couple shares a son together, born in 2012.

“When I was writing it, it was my friend who came over with a bottle of wine and a takeaway to cheer me up,” she explained about the album in an Instagram post. “My wise friend who always gives the best advice.”

2. It will be out in November

In an Instagram post, Adele revealed that her new album, 30, will be released on November 9.

She wrote that after “throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil”, she’s feeling better and is finally ready to “put this album out”.

The first single in the album, however, will be released on October 15. The track, Easy On Me, was previewed for the first time by the singer during her October 9 Instagram Live.

3. It will be her first album in six years

This is Adele’s first album in six years and her fourth full-length album so far.

In an Instagram post, the singer admitted that the album, which took about three years to produce, helped her learn a lot of “blistering home truths about herself.”

“I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go so far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life,” she wrote.

4. The album will feature some big names

While it looks like the upcoming album will not see any collaborators, we do know that Adele worked with some carefully selected writers and producers for 30.

In fact, Adele told Vogue UK that she worked with producer and songwriter Greg Kurstin who produced three of the tracks on her previous album 25.

She will also be working with Max Martin, Shellback, Inflo, a London-based producer and Swedish composer and producer Ludwig Göransson who won an Academy Award for his work on the Black Panther score.

5. We might see a television special following the release

According to Vulture, Adele and her team might be putting out a coinciding television special shortly after the album’s release.

It reported that the singer and her team “approached multiple networks and platforms about the idea of staging a TV special tied to the new release.”

If this goes through, we can expect to see a TV special just in time for Christmas.
