Bambina Olivares launches her new book, Making Love in Spanish.

After conquering the world of media and public relations for years (with calligraphy on the side—a hidden talent, she says), Bambina Olivares aims her creativity and wit at a new project—a novel. Writing under the pseudonym “B Wiser,” a very fitting pen name that she has given herself after her divorce (Wise was her married name), Olivares jumps into adult romance with her first published book, Making Love in Spanish. “The idea for the book came from a dare of sorts to reverse that tired old trope of young, innocent, inexperienced lass who meets an older, more successful and more experienced man. And to do so with generous doses of wit and sass,” explains Olivares.

A smart, funny, and sometimes racy novel, the book tells the story of a 50-something single mum who discovers a new sense of freedom after escaping the hellish fires of her married life, and embraces the unexplored dimensions and expressions of love. “It was a lot of fun to write,” says Olivares. “In the end, what this book does is celebrate a woman’s choices and her freedom to live her life the way she wants to, without being weighed down by cultural or societal baggage.”

Making Love in Spanish, which will be launched this month, will be released by Anvil Publishing and will be available in all National Bookstores nationwide.
