From a food show starring Michelle Obama to the second season of K-drama Love Alarm, here are six new shows making their premiere on the streaming giant in March

1. Moxie

Directed by Amy Poehler, Moxie tells the story of a shy 16-year-old who, inspired by her mom's rebellious past, publishes an underground zine to call out sexism at her school.

2. Pacific Rim: The Black

Australia is now overrun by Kaijus (strange beasts), and two teenage siblings are in a frantic search for their missing parents. To find them, they teach themselves to pilot an abandoned Jaeger. 

Premier date: March 4

3. Yes Day

Jennifer Garner plays a mom who decides to let her kids make the rules for one day, leading to a series of hilarious events around Los Angeles. 

Premiere date: March 12

4. Love Alarm: Season 2

Love Alarm has the distinction of being the first Korean series to be picked by Netflix, and it was such a huge success that Korean shows are now a staple on the streaming giant. Netflix also ordered a second season of the romantic comedy that sees the return of the three original leads—Song Kang, Kim So Hyun and Jung Ga Ram.

Centred around a dating app which has been updated with new features, the new season is likely to focus on how the updates affect the lives of the main characters.

5. Waffles + Mochi

Produced by the Obamas' production company, Higher Ground, this series features two puppet pals Waffles and Mochi who go on a discovery of food and culture around the world. Famous guests include former First Lady Michelle Obama, Jack Black, Rashida Jones and Michelin chef Massimo Bottura.

Premiere date: March 16

6. The Yin Yang Master

This Chinese fantasy movie pitting humans and demons stars acclaimed actors Chen Kun and Zhou Xun. A veritable visual feast, it's a fresh take on the classic Yin Yang Master legend.

Premiere date: TBC
