The park will provide 23 hectares of public open space including a green avenue and a waterfront promenade

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) has revealed a concept design for a park that has been planned for the West Kowloon Cultural District.

In February of this year, the WKCDA appointed Dennis Lau & Ng Chun Man Architects & Engineers Ltd, international award-winning design consultant West 8, as well as ACLA to work together on the park’s design, which will be spread out over 23 hectares of public open land, and will include a green avenue and a waterfront promenade.

The park will serve as a venue for music, dance and theatre performances, as well as art exhibitions and various cultural programmes. In order to ensure safety and comfort during the warmer months of the year, the team has paid special attention to provide shaded areas and topographic variation. Large-scale outdoor sculptures and installations curated by M+ will also find comfort within the park.

All of the park’s venues will be linked by a cultural boulevard, which will run through the heart of the District.
