Since 1854, Louis Vuitton has brought unique designs to the world by combining innovation with style and aiming for the finest quality.

Today, the House remains faithful to the spirit of its founder, Louis Vuitton, who invented a genuine ‘Art of Travel’ through luggage, bags and accessories which were as creative as they were elegant and practical.

After receiving an overwhelming response in Tokyo,  Louis Vuitton is now showcasing ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ’ once again at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, which will run through until August 27, 2017.

Curated by Olivier Saillard, the exhibition retraces the brand’s great journey from 1854 till today, through archives of the Family’s founding members to those who create the Louis Vuitton of today.

The thematic journey conceived and designed by Robert Carsen tells the story of the House in 10 chapters including one dedicated entirely to Korea.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the House’s iconic trunks have accompanied travellers to Korea. Among the early clients who went on Korean expeditions would be Jean de Pange; historian and author of En Coree and archaeologist Joesph Hackin; who participated at La Croisiere Jaune in 1930s.

The exhibition opens with absolute symbol of Louis Vuitton: an antique malle, that fast became the House’s symbol; epitomising Louis Vuitton’s audacious spirit.

Moving on, the exhibition takes visitors through objects and documents from Louis Vuitton’s archives as well as selected pieces from Palais Galliera (formerly the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris) and private collectors. The exhibition culminates with a section devoted to craftsmanship.

Volez, Voguez, Voyagez is currently being held at the Art Hall of the spaceship-like landmark of the South Korean capital, inviting visitors to embark on a journey of time.
