The virtual shopping mall championing local brands, The Artisans Haven (TAH) is going physical for the first time at The LINC KL this weekend

If you're looking for a fun weekend activity, look no further. On March 13 and 14, The Artisans Haven is putting on a showcase that will bring over 100 unique products, from artisanal beauty fragrances to home and living essentials, at The LINC KL.

Not your average weekend shopping trip, The Artisans Showcase will give you opportunity to interact with some of the Malaysian talents on display. For example, Aien Mokhtar, founder of luxury artisanal perfumery OLFAC3, will be there to demonstrate how to properly apply perfume and teach you how to create your own unique scent. Award-winning jewellery designer, Tina Winness, will also be holding a step-by-step demonstration on how to make fine jewellery.

Since The Artisan Haven was founded by Jade Lee and Rosalie Lin in May 2020, this women-led virtual platform has helped up to 120 local entrepreneurs by providing them visibility and sharing their skills, network and experience pro bono. "I started this project because I discovered many talented local artisans and small businesses who struggled to market their crafts, especially during the pandemic," said Lee, who recently retired from her banking job.

"We have a vision of bringing significance to society by supporting local artisans and small businesses," added co-founder Rosalie Lin.

Introducing an initiative to #ShopForGood, The Artisans Haven also houses a number of social enterprises and donates a portion of their revenues to local NGOs including Beautiful Gate, Community Excel Services (CES), Gem & Bread Special Needs Support Group, RC Deaf Missions and Helping Hands Penan. In fact, at The Artisans Showcase this weekend, you will be able to find the bags and baskets, traditionally hand woven by Penan women—the sales of which go towards funding food, resources and education for this Sarawakian community.

And shopping is not the only thing to do at this event. There will also be performances, film screenings, giveaways and engaging activities.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there is a 4x4 World Explorer booth for an adrenaline rush activity, led by famous world explorer Thomas Foo. Certified fitness coach Harizon Ramli will also be sharing tips and tricks on making your home workout routine work for any fitness goals, from building muscles to losing weight.

For film enthusiasts, the award-winning Enfiniti Academy will be screening Puteri Gunung Ledang.
