Canon recently unveiled its innovative satellite photography function that combines cutting edge technology and visual art

Canon is making it easier than ever to catch a glimpse of space. The Japanese photography company recently unveiled its new website that will allow photographers and space enthusiasts alike to capture shots of the earth using its existing CE-SAT-1 and 2B satellite.

According to a Hypebeast report, the interactive digital experience will “transcend limits” by making space photography accessible to anyone thanks to the PowerShot S110 and an EOS 5D Mark III DSLR with a 40cm Cassegrain-type 3720mm telescope attached to the satellite.

The user experience on the website will be narrated by astronaut Masha Ivins, which will allow budding space photographers to get to know the satellite and understand exactly what it was designed for when it was launched into space in 2017 before getting the chance to zoom around the globe from above while capturing images along the way.

“2020 was a year filled with limits. We were all faced with looking at our daily lives and figuring out the best paths to complete our professional work and responsibilities to our families,” Kazuto Ogawa, president and CEO, Canon U.S.A., Inc, said in a press release about the unveiling at CES earlier this month.

“As we catapult into 2021, we are presented with a unique opportunity to redefine our limits. At CES, Canon is excited to share how our technologies, solutions and products can inspire and offer a chance to collaborate on a better future.”

Interested in testing out the innovative new initiative or learning more about the role Canon will play in furthering space photography? The new website, known as Redefine The Limits, is now live and available for the public to peruse.
