Internationally published photographer Pat Fok has released some of her never-seen-before photographs in a new book, Enchanted Light by Pat Fok. This also served as the working title to her new exhibition at the IFC’s Oval Atrium where she highlights 20 such photographs to the public.

The new series of photographs seen in this exhibition was taken during Fok’s travels over a decade. In reviewing her photographs she discovered a series of photographs which all shared a unique light phenomena, and with the persuasion of her close friends to publish them, she decided to share them with the public. In doing this exhibition, she hopes “people will take the time, slow down, and look inwards and find peace and calm within”. The proceeds from the sale of the books and prints of the images will go towards her close friend Wendy Kwok’s charity organization Suicide Prevention Services.

With a plethora of support, we were told the limited edition signed coffee table book (HK$5000) have now been all sold out, and we also learned that Richard Li, who strolled the exhibition surreptitiously, purchased the piece Enchanted Light 001 (HK$88,000) to add to his art collection.

Watch the video above as Fok talks about her career; including her experiences while being trained by world-renowned photographer Ansel Adams; the light phenomena; and why she chose the Suicide Prevention Services as her charity of choice.
