Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is bringing its hit musical 'Rak of Aegis' online so you could witness the story inside the humble barangay of Venezia on your own TV screens.

The Pinoy original Musical Rak of Aegis, which features timeless songs of the rock band Aegis, can now be watched online after the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) announced that it will be streaming the show for two weekends via pay-per-view on Ticket2Me.net.

The musical will stream from 31 July to 1 August and from 7 to 8 August under the group's banner project #TakePETAbeyondCOVID fundraising campaign.

According to PETA President CB Garrucho, his organisation was among the groups that experienced the wrath of COVID-19. “It is certainly not easy times for many artists and cultural institutions like us. In the last few months alone, we had to make some of the hardest decisions in our 54-year history. Despite our best efforts, we had to let go of 20 per cent of our staff, while implementing across the board pay cuts for over a year.”

Garrucho says that while PETA is proud to have been able to keep going, they are painfully aware that there are over a hundred people—a community of artists, production staff and crew—who have lost so much work during the pandemic because of cancelled workshops, events, and shows. However, those in PETA remain to be determined, committed and creative people who refuse to raise the white flag of surrender.

The #TakePETAbeyondCOVID fundraising campaign will ensure that performances like Rak of Aegis, will not perish and continue to entertain people amid the global crisis. “This streaming is available globally, so anybody from anywhere in the world can watch this proudly Pinoy musical!” says CB Garrucho. “Every ticket sold helps us gather funds to sustain our operational funds and activities so that in turn, we can give more jobs to our artists, teachers, and production and technical staff.”
