Presented by DiverseCity and Liver & Lung Productions, this digital arts festival will stream film, music and comedy experiences, including Southeast Asia's first Tik-Tok musical, Nasi Lemak

Here's some good news for theatre aficionados, music lovers and comedy fans: this month marks the launch of the inaugural KLoud Fest 2021, presented by award-winning theatre company Liver & Lung Productions and renowned arts NGO DiverseCity (of KL International Arts Festival fame).

The two-day digital festival from March 19 - 20, 2021 will feature a rich programme of film, music and comedy experiences by local performers, comedians, content creators and TikTok stars. They include Instant Cafe Theatre co-founder Jo Kukathas, actress Putrina Rafie, comedians Hannan Azlan, Mad Sabah and Kuah Jenhan, along with Amsyar Lee, Clinton Jerome Chua and more.

Backed by MyCreative Ventures and Penjana, the digital festival is a great platform for local artists and performers who have been adversely affected by the pandemic and lockdowns.

"As arts practitioners, we are adaptable to change but we cannot easily pivot away to other jobs," says DiverseCity founder Datin Seri Sunita Rajakumar. "We need encouragement to continue rehearsing, training, creating and being imaginative. We hope the government will continue supporting the creative economy by providing opportunities for this ecosystem towards the development of our collective well-being."
