Karl Lagerfeld is set to be the center of attention during Pitti Immagine Uomo 90 this year, starring in a new photography exhibition.

Titled "Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion", the exhibition will explore the prolific fashion designer's lesser-known photographic career, as well as presenting some never-before-shown images.

The show will celebrate Lagerfeld's photographic oeuvre, from snapshots and fashion shoots published in the world's most important fashion magazines to others inspired by classical mythology, created using a variety of techniques. Held at Palazzo Pitti in Florence and curated by Eric Pfrunder and Gerhard Steidl, it will take up several rooms, starting from the grand staircase, Scalone del Moro, and winding its way through the rooms of the Galleria Palatina, the Sala Bianca and the two rooms of the Appartamenti degli Arazzi.

'Visions of Fashion' is one of many high-profile extracurricular events scheduled during the menswear fashion event, alongside a special menswear show by ex-Dior designer Raf Simons, titled "Florence Calling: Raf Simons."

Octogenarian Lagerfeld, who recently dismissed widely-reported rumors of an imminent retirement announcement, maintains a staggering creative output as the head of the luxury fashion houses of Chanel and Fendi, alongside his own eponymous brand.

"Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion" will open to the public on June 15, with a closing date yet to be announced. Pitti Uomo runs from June 14-17.

Age has little effect on Lagerfeld, who only recently saw Fendi take a new step forward with their brand new headquarters in rome, the Palazzo Fendi.
