An inspiring new museum spanning 105,000 square feet of multipurpose culture space opens at K11 Musea today

Visitors can now immerse themselves in art and nature surrounded by international works of art from Mary Weatherford, Erwin Wurm, and Yayoi Kusama alongside more than 40 other feature artworks, at K11 Musea's new Art and Culture Centre as well as its Sculpture Park.

The new centre, located on the sixth floor, is a multi-purpose cultural space reflecting the city's waterfront culture and representing the fluid exchange of ideas in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual society like Hong Kong. The collection is aesthetically curated in context to the city's geographical location under the direction of founder, Adrian Cheng.

These new openings continue to foray Hong Kong as an art hub and showcase K11 Musea as more than a cultural landmark and the centrepiece of Victoria Dockside. It also inspires global millennials and facilitates broader discussion on the interconnectedness of creativity, culture, and innovation.

Some of the notable artworks that can be found exhibited at the Art & Cultural Space include The Moment of Regeneration by Yayoi Kusama, an artwork that captures the psychological state of human nature in the modern age; Chris Huen Sin Kan's Trees, which draws inspiration from the charm and beauty of commonplace happenings; and Turner Prize winner Oscar Murillo’s día mundial de las aves migratorias which translates into "World Migratory Bird Day" and consists of elements that are inspired by different cultures and regions. More incredible art exhibitions will be displayed in the future.

At the K11 Sculpture Park, you can admire the magnificent works of Katharina Grosse, Tatiana Trouvé, and Erwin Wurm. The Gourmet Chamber seamlessly displays artworks throughout while also welcoming numerous restaurants and bars including Cobo House, Couchou Reserve, Fine Wine Experience, Sushi Wadatsumi, and TeaMiTea—all of which is opening in phases. The vision of this outdoor space is to bring a sense of discovery and offer a place to relax and appreciate the arts.

Also at the sixth-floor space, you will discover a new spectacular sight designed by Solid Objectives Idenburg Liu (SO-IL). An intricately arranged façade featuring 300 glass cylinders of different heights, it invites visitors to explore between the indoors and outdoors, lending itself beautifully to acoustics while creating a soundscape by the sea to enjoy.
