1. Blue House Cluster

Despite its name, the Blue House Cluster is made up of three colourful houses, in addition to the Blue House, there is also Yellow House and Orange House. These interlocking houses in Wan Chai were originally a hospital that provided Chinese medicine services to its residents. Designed in Lingan-style, the main house, the Blue House, was painted blue in the 1990s using leftover paint from the Water Supplies Department––where it earned its name.

Out of the three houses, only the Blue House is Grade I historical building while the Yellow House is Grade III and the Orange House has yet to gain a rating. The historic building is also one of the few remaining tong lau-styled buildings or residential buildings that were characterised by their balconies and built during the late 19th century. What's more, the Blue House was also recently given the Award of Excellence by UNESCO, the highest level in four categories.

2. Graham Street Mural

Known unofficially as "The Instagram Wall", this street art on Graham Street in Sheung Wan is probably the most recognisable street mural in the city. Tourists and local alike flock to this Instagram spot to take photos against the street mural depicting a row of old Hong Kong buildings in a multitude of colours.

The art was commissioned by Goods of Desire who wanted to paint a mural on the side of their shop in Hollywood Road. Co-founder Douglas Young tasked Alex Croft, a street artist from Sai Kung to do the job. The artwork depicts Hong Kong's streetscape, something that the city is known for and also reminiscent of the Kowloon Walled City which Young and Croft are both interested in.
