On the heels of 8 Women / 8 Stories at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery in Central arrives an exhibition that juxtaposes urbanity and nature. Overlapping the realms of real and ethereal, as well as contrasting old with new, Hiroshi Senju presents Day Falls/Night Falls, showing from April 16 until June 9.

This upcoming exhibition of his work, featuring fluorescent pigments only seen under UV light and the traditional Nihonga Japanese painting technique, will allow admirers to journey through intense emotion and unrestrained movement. Senju’s Day Falls/Night Falls is said to be seen as an ode to the abundance of city lights in modern times.

With paintings in renowned museums all over Japan, as well as the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles, Hiroshi Senju is the first Asian artist to have received an honorable mention at the Venice Biennale.
