The gigantic inflatable bird sails into Hong Kong harbour

Having invited Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman to exhibit his classic masterpiece – a gigantic inflatable rubber duck – in Hong Kong for the first time, Harbour City is continuing to work closely to welcome world-renowned artists as part of large-scale exhibitions.

With the harbour as its giant bathtub, the 16.5 meter high Rubber Duck made its first appearance today, anchoring next to Harbour City for an exhibition that will run from now until June 9.

Since 2007, the Rubber Duck has traveled to cities around the world, including Osaka, Sydney, Amsterdam and Sao Paulo.  The six-story high art piece takes center-stage to an exhibition that also includes a photo exhibition of the Rubber Duck journey over the years set in a gallery overlooking the harbour.
