Art Basel partners up with Fine Art Asia to host an event in November to support the city's art community

Hong Kong Spotlight by Art Basel will be held at Fine Art Asia 2020. The event is set to showcase 22 galleries with exhibition spaces in the city that have taken part in previous editions of Art Basel in Hong Kong.

The fair is a collaboration between Art Basel and Fine Art Asia to support members of Hong Kong's visual arts community, which has been rocked by the Covid-19 pandemic

The pandemic has forced Art Basel to cancel all three of its annual fairs this year—in Hong Kong, Basel and Miami Beach—but it has hosted a series of online viewing rooms since March. Hong Kong Spotlight will be the first in-person event hosted by Art Basel in 2020.

"Our collaboration with Fine Art Asia will be a wonderful opportunity for the Hong Kong cultural community to come together and celebrate the creative spirit of the city," says Adeline Ooi, Director Asia of Art Basel. "Art Basel is dedicated to supporting the region and we are therefore delighted that we are able to provide a physical platform for galleries and their artists in what has been a challenging year."

Creating an opportunity to experience art in person again, Hong Kong Spotlight will include a premier line-up of 22 galleries across the city:

Angelle Siyang-Le, Project Lead on Hong Kong Spotlight and Regional Head of Gallery Relations Asia, Art Basel said, "Hong Kong Spotlight is a special occasion for our Hong Kong exhibitors to present their premier program and an opportunity for the art community to exchange ideas."

Hong Kong Spotlight will take place from November 27–30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will comprise of precisely curated projects, ranging from thematic solo and group exhibitions to art-historical showcases and film.

Tickets will be limited and available via Fine Art Asia from November 27–30. For opening hours, please visit the official website.
