Available on view until October 9 are three solo exhibitions at Art Cube Gallery.
Isko Andrade's "SoLace" exhibition explores the feeling of exhaustion he felt over the past year since the pandemic hit and hopes that people would find a sense of comfort, calmness, and relaxation with his latest works. In comparison to his previous works that are usually dark, he plays with lights in this particular exhibition, making use of the blue colour as a representation of the sunrise while red for the sunset. Andrade received several awards and citations in the past, including accolades at the Shell National Student Art Competition and Metrobank Art Design Excellence (MADE) Competition.
Ciane Xavier's "Connecting and Disco" is about humanism and transhumanism, showing the blending of machines with the biology of humans. In this exhibition, the artist talks about "the importance of human life with the nature of caring deeply about things that directly impact one's self". Xavier is an expressive artist who discovered her passion for the arts since she moved to the Philippines from Brazil. As a former fashion model, she has lived in more than 14 countries in her teenage years. Now, she tries to bridge her two different worlds through the arts.
Lastly, Jep Dizon relates his works in "An Imaginary View From A Synthetic Window" exhibition with the modern trends such as technology and social media platforms. "For him, the concept of these platforms became the illusion of our reality where we often forget to see the beauty of the natural environment and the importance of present moments," the exhibition notes say. Dizon is a Fine Arts graduate and has gained recognition from Shell National Art Competition and MADE for his remarkable works. He has been part of numerous group exhibits since 2015 and had his first solo show in 2019.
