Titled “FUTURALAND”, the space-themed art exhibition will feature Futura’s largest public installation to date

Hong Kong-based creative studio AllRightsReserved is collaborating with legendary graffiti artist, Futura (also known as FUTURA2000), to present a visual art exhibition in partnership with Belowground at Landmark Atrium.

Set to take place from June 3 to 16, the exhibition will revolve around the theme of outer space and mark Futura’s first experiential exploration of space and intergalactic travel. Visitors will be able to peruse a six-metre-tall rocket ship surrounded by seven FL-006 sculptural forms, which is expected to be the largest public installation curated by the artist to date.

Futura has made a name for himself across a wide range of art mediums including canvas, paper, sculpture and commercial applications, who is renowned for his radical approach to abstract art since the 1970s. The New York-based contemporary artist is particularly interested in exploring the potentials of the future in both advancements of humanity and technology, with extra-terrestrial beings one of the most iconic motifs in his work.

Speak about his upcoming exhibition, Futura said, “I want to introduce people to who I am, and my body of work. I would like to get people to obviously become familiar with my character universe, and the idea behind my characters and the perception in a playful way. They are coming from somewhere and they arrived here. Of course, this project with this spaceship, the alien figures help tell that kind of playful story, kind of my own fantasy as far as the characters.”

The “FUTURALAND” exhibition will take place at Landmark Atrium in Central from June 3 to June 16, which opens daily from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Admission is free to the public. A pop-up store for the exhibition will open from June 4 to 16 at Belowground. Discover more about the exhibition on AllRightsReserved’s official Facebook and Instagram.
